Tips on growing Japanese Maples from seed

Tips on planting Japanese Maples

Acer palmatum

'Viridis'

Zone 6

(Europe 7)

Viridis has become to be the name for any green form of dissectum

Foliage is 'the type' for dissectums, being mainly 9 or 7 lobed

The bright green foliage turns an orange/gold (sometimes suffused with reds) in autumn

These pictures show the different colours of this plant at varying times of the year

REMEMBER that all Japanese Maples prefer a slightly acid well drained soil with a constant moisture content.
