Tips on growing Japanese Maples from seed

Tips on planting Japanese Maples

Acer palmatum

'Pendulum Julian'

Zone 6

(Europe 7)

The deep brown/purple colour helds well into the summer, gradually changing to a rusty green with a reddish undertone

It is quite pendulous, and young plants should be staked early to reach the desired height

Cascading is outward, and then downward

In autumn the crimson-orange combinations are quite vivid

These pictures show the different colours of this plant at varying times of the year

REMEMBER that all Japanese Maples prefer a slightly acid well drained soil with a constant moisture content.
