Tips on growing Japanese Maples from seed

Tips on planting Japanese Maples

Acer palmatum

'Omurayama'

Zone 6

(Europe 7)

An excellent example of the cascading type of Palmatum. As it attains height the pendulous branches become willowy, and form a long curtain around the perimeter of the plant

New foliage has a bright orange cast to the edges, but the leaves soon become a uniform brilliant green

Autumn colours are a spectacular gold and crimson combination

These pictures show the different colours of this plant at varying times of the year

REMEMBER that all Japanese Maples prefer a slightly acid well drained soil with a constant moisture content.
