Tips on planting Japanese Maples

Acer palmatum

'Kasagiyama'

Zone 6

(Europe 7)

The foliage of this plant has most unusual colour combinations

The principal early colour is a brick red, changing to shades of green during summer

The veins are a different tone, the main ones being dark, and are prominent

These pictures show the different colours of this plant at varying times of the year

REMEMBER that all Japanese Maples prefer a slightly acid well drained soil with a constant moisture content.
