Tips on planting Japanese Maples

Acer shirasawanum

'Aureum'

'Full Moon maple'

Zone 6

(Europe 7)

The yellow leafed form of the species. Spring foliage is a pale yellow-green, gradually becoming darker as the season progresses

Autumn colouration is an orange through red sometimes tinged with purple

This maple is particularly striking in early spring when the foliage practically 'glows'

These pictures show the different colours of this plant at varying times of the year

REMEMBER that all Japanese Maples prefer a slightly acid well drained soil with a constant moisture content.
